As the college crowds invade Panama City Beach and
Destin, Scenic Highway 30A also comes to life during the Spring. March kicks off with the Seaside Half Marathon and 5K, which draws
thousands of runners from across the country. And even if you’re not a
runner, the weekend includes plenty of special events, and watching the race is
always a lot of fun.
For those of you who enjoy a more relaxing time -- the 30A Wine Festival is held at beautiful Alys Beach, which is also a great
event to plan a weekend around.
If you can get away, April really is one of the most perfect times of year to
visit 30A. In early April the warmer weather sets in and most of the Spring Break
Crowd is gone. The Sandestin Wine
Festival is a great excuse to come
on down April 20-23rd.
May is also a wonderful month to visit 30A -- it
is the true calm before summer hits and the weather doesn’t get any better. It’s
not too hot during the day and not too chilly at night. And there are some
great events happening throughout the month of May. Digital Graffiti is an amazing experience to plan a
summer getaway around. There is nothing else quite like it in the world. Alys Beach comes alive at night with dozens of digital artists
projecting original pieces on the unique architecture of this gorgeous Gulf

Arts Festival will be
held May 13-14 at Grand Boulevard. This two-and-a-half-day festival features
more than 130 hand-selected artists, live music, public art demonstrations, and
lots of fun activities for adults and families.
And of course the end of May is when Memorial Day
officially kicks off the summer season with barbecues, beach parties, and tons
of free events up and down 30A.
So, March,
April or May -- pick a month and come on down to 30A this Spring, I promise
you’ll love it being down here during the best time of the year!
